What are the best family vacation resorts?

Me and my family are going to go on a vacation together during mid winter break. We want to fly out of the states to somewhere near the Bahamas or Cancun. The resort has to be family friendly and offer a lot to do. A warm, clean beach is necessary and so is a pool. Myself (12) my brother (14) my sister (17) my sister's friend (18) and my dad are planning to do together. Any ideas on some good resorts with a lot to do?

1. I wouldn't go to Cancun unless you enjoy getting parasite diarrhea from accidentally drinking your hotel's tap water... and dealing with the feeling of being watched very closely when you leave the resort for some light shopping. Bahamas is better, but the police officers look so silly in their high dark socks and shorts.
