Marquis Villas Resort

Does anybody know of any ski and snowboarding resorts within two to three hours of the bay area?

My family and i usually go to south lake tahoe to the casino resorts and we stay at harveys or harrahs but we're trying to find an area thats closer for a weekend getaway that is still enjoyable. If you know of anywhere please let me know!

2. Nothing is going to be Closer. you could switch it up and go to the North side and ride at Squaw or Northstar or Boreal (which may be closest in terms of driving) Ther'e some places to the south: Bear Valley and Sierra Summit, but it's not going to compare with Tahoe.
3. Forget what the other guy said. Mammoth is way to far for us. I live in San Jose and usually go to either Northstar or Sierra. N* takes about 4 hours to get to and Sierra about 3.5 There is nothing closer than 3 hours from bay area, especially not from San Jose. Its a price we have to pay. Here are some options if you want to get up there more often. You can find people offering rides or get rideshares to lower gas cost on this forum http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ski_pal/ Its a yahoo group for bay area ppl that want to get up to tahoe. I have been using it for like 3 years and most weekend I run into ppl on the slopes that I have either given a ride or got a ride from in the past. The other thing is this place I keep hearing about that they are going to open next summer in Morgan Hill called morgan hill snowflex. Google it. Its basically a year round snowboarding thing. Sounds too good to be true, but lets hope it works out.
4. mammoth mountain maybe? well it takes 4-5 hours to get there from LA.
