Why is Anderson Cooper staying at a $10,000 a week beach villa while reporting in Haiti?

1. rich white liberals love to be surrounded by poor people. It makes them feel more king like. Why do you think George Clooney lives in a mansion overlooking a tiny impoverished villiage in italy?

14. Because CNN is a corporation, not a charity. They are in it to make a profit, and also blow money like this on lodging for their journalists. It's standard business practice. I don't think anyone expect differently from them or any other news outlet.
