Why is Anderson Cooper staying at a $10,000 a week beach villa while reporting in Haiti?

- rich white liberals love to be surrounded by poor people. It makes them feel more king like. Why do you think George Clooney lives in a mansion overlooking a tiny impoverished villiage in italy?
- Do you honestly think he'd be safe staying in the slums?
- because he'll be more comfortable there with his gay lover....
- Can You Say ELITIST......Just like Obuma
- Because he is a man of the people?
- Makes one wonder why the Royal Caribbean is docking in Haiti, mind you, the rich love sightseeing.
- lefties have no problem with that, but they have issues with a cruise ship bringing in supplies and medicince.
- Is even still on the air? I figured after his show comes in last place all of the time CNN would fire him.
- Because beach villas are nice. Slums are not.
- the same reason Obama stays in a 5000 a day place in hawaii.......because the american taxpayers are paying for it....
- Why not. Sure puts some good money in to their economy when they could use it and tourism is bound to be down. If it is true I applaud him.
- a better question is, why is he there at all? Is it really necessary?
- Is there really anything worth $10,000 a week standing in Haiti?
- Because CNN is a corporation, not a charity. They are in it to make a profit, and also blow money like this on lodging for their journalists. It's standard business practice. I don't think anyone expect differently from them or any other news outlet.
- He's a Vanderbilt; a super wealthy super privileged liberal media representative. Oh, and he's gay also - you don't really expect him to get his manicure dirty do you?
- he needs to entertain the young Haitian boys in style!!!
- Oh, please, don't ruin it for me. Anderson Cooper is one of the few journalists for which I have any respect.
- yo sweets,it is what they do best, report human suffering while enjoying life ! hmm. any chicks there...
