Did anyone have a private beach wedding in Hawaii or Caribbean countries? Any advice?

I would like to have a wedding on a private beach area in Hawaii or countries in Caribbean. I know that there are some luxury villas in Caribbean do have a private beach area but there is usually a 5-7 days accomodation required. It's kind of expensive for me to stay in a villa for that long. My budget is about $3000-$5000 for a simple wedding ceremony and some photographs. Any suggestion for the locations or planning companies?

  1. Well, it wasn't a PRIVATE beach, but it was kind of a secluded AREA of the beach that they use almost exclusively for weddings...We went to Hawaii and used www.wedaloha.com (on Oahu)...They have several locations that they use frequently, but we got married on Waialae (Sp?) Beach...If you're interested, you can check out our pictures on http://www.flickr.com/photos/korina1971/sets/72157600739227963/ We had a blast, it was beautiful, and the wedding planners and photographers were AWESOME!!!! *EDIT: And it was affordable...We spent about $600 on the whole ceremony INCLUDING photos...although we did have just myself and my groom with no guests, and went with a simpler wedding package. Depending on what you want and how many people you have, this is VERY doable on your budget.
  2. We got married on Ironwoods beach in Maui. It was really beautiful. Not private but there was hardly anyone else there. Especially if you plan a sunset wedding you will likely be alone on the beach. I definitely recommend finding a wedding coordinator who lives in the area. I did and she took care of everything from the flowers, to finding the minister, and recommending a photographer. The wedding itself was very cheap. I think we spent around $600 for the whole thing. The wedding was not affiliated with any hotel which helped to save money. I looked into having a wedding at the hotel we stayed and it was VERY expensive to do that, plus there would have been a lot more people around. I would do some internet searches about wedding coordinators in the different locations you are considering. Then talk to those people about different options. They will be able to tell you about some more private beach locations. Maui was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it as a location. The downside to some countries outside of the US is that often your marriage won't be legally recognized in the US. You will either have to be legally married before you leave, or after you get back. That was a little anti-climactic for me. We originally considered getting married in Tahiti but had to actually be married before we left for it to be legal. That made it a no go for me. I have no regrets about Maui. Good luck!
