Marquis Villas Resort

Has anyone gone on a Wyndham vacation pacage where you have to sit through a timeshare presentation?

Is it worth it? We are doing it in San Antonio. We aren't interested in the timeshare but we were wondering if they try to charge us anything else other than the package without telling us? Has anyone ever done this and what do you think of it? Thanks!

  1. The announcement makes it look as though you will get something valuable for nothing. But that is not true. You will have to earn it by sitting through a long sales pitch, often of more than two hours, and frequently using high pressure tactics. For that, you will earn the cheapest of the "gifts" listed.
  2. I have attended more than once. The first one you are really not sure what to do. We had to pay $20, but was refundable. That was just to make sure you attend. They will offer you gifts just for attending. When we attended they offered cash, gift cards to restaurants and tickets to area events. We went for the cash. If you are really not interested in buying the time share then do not buy. Leave as soon as the presentation is over and make sure you ask for your gifts. Now things to remember - you will be dealing with a sales man or woman. If they fail to earn your sale then they will call their big boss to talk to you. If they all fail then they will treat you like crap. Trust me on this. Unless things have really changed. Also ask as many questions as possible. Treat this as a car buying process. Sometimes to get a better deal you have to walk away. Well to cut the story short, we are now owners and we have been to some of their resorts. Its well worth it. If you are unsure about buying a time share just ask them for a trial package. They call it the discovery package. I forget how much it costs but they give you a 2 year period to explore their resorts, that is depending on how many points they give you. Things to remember also, they will ask for a downpayment, if you buy, so just have some money on you. Also you are in control of the whole process. If you want more details please feel free to ask. Thanks.
