Marquis Villas Resort

I'm looking to possibly purchase a timeshare, looking for direction on what site I could check out?

I've heard you can get cheap deals on vacations if you agree to go to a seminar while you are on your vacation? I'm actually interested in buying a timeshare but if I can get a good deal on a vacation at the same time, I would be interested in both. Anyone that could help me please feel free!

  1. Some one needs to knock some sense into you. The only people saying these are "great deals" are the salesmen. Your yearly maintenance fees will exceed the cost of most vacations.
  2. Buy a resale one. Just make sure it is Red Time and the dead is forever. Many timeshares expire after 20 years. Just search the net for timeshare resale.
  3. time shares are the worst investment you can make. Please don't do it. Google timeshare resale problems and see what you get. DO NOT BUY A TMESHARE.
  4. Have you read any of the answers here? Check timeshares under advanced and see what percentage of the questions are related to people trying to get out of their contracts, and how many are from people who, like you, thought they could go to a showing and not buy. They aren't giving away free gifts because they are losing money on them. Unless you can really afford a timeshare, both the original cost and the resultant maintenance charges, stay away and enjoy a less costly vacation, or you may find yourself paying for a free vacation the rest of your life.
  5. Timeshare is definitely for people with NO FINANCIAL problems and when doing it for the RIGHT reasons and under the RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES it can be a GOOD THING. BIG "NO,NOS" IN TIMESHARE: *If you normally spend less than $100 USD a night for accommodations then timeshare is NOT FOR YOU *It is not a financial investment *Don´t buy if you plan to rent it *Don´t buy if you plan on reselling *Don´t buy if you plan on exchanging often *Make sure you can afford to travel at least one week a year *NEVER BUY FROM THE DEVELOPER THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES: *This system makes vacation home ownership possible for many people who cannot afford a second home or who otherwise would not be able to enjoy such resort facilities. Timeshare is an investment in lifestyle, in future holidays, in family time together, and when viewed that way it can be a good investment indeed. *Get it in an area the you LOVE and that you would visit every year without a problem *Get it in a very nice Resort (where normally people would pay at least $200 a night) *Get it in the resale market (it would cost you less than $2000 USD) so all what you have to spend is the maintenance fee. You can look in: http://timeshareownerscommunity.com/ http://craigslist.com http://ebay.com HERE ARE THE NUMBERS: $200 USD a night (in a decent resort) x 6 nights = $1200 USD Maintenance fee in a NICE RESORT x 6 nights = $700 *Maintenance in a "decent resort" x 6 nights = $400 You do your own numbers.
